Musical Background & History
1991 - 1993
Cutler Ridge Middle School
I joined the middle school band in sixth grade and learned to play the alto saxophone. We learned to march and play well enough to win several local competitions. I tried out for advanced band after my first year and made the cut. We went on to win the Smokey Mountain Music festival for our age group in Gatlinburg TN.
1999
U.S. Navy
My first night in Navy boot camp we were asked about any musical background we had. I was offered an opportunity to try out for the marching band and perform for the graduating classes. I ended up playing the baritone sax. This musical adventure extended my stay in boot camp and landed me in division 924. One time, we even got to do a parade in a nearby small town outside of Great Lakes Illinois. For the final performance we played at the Buckingham fountain in Chicago.
2000 - 2020
After boot camp I had to leave the sax behind and decided to take up the guitar. After saving up for a few weeks I picked up my first acoustic guitar from a local pawn shop. I played every day after classes were done. I was able to take my guitar with me to the ship I was assigned to and met a few other musicians along the way.
After the Navy I returned to south Florida and I kept playing daily after work and as the years passed my skill level grew.
2021-2023
South Beach FL.
In 2021 I got a license to perform on the street and began busking on South Beach & Lincoln Rd. After that permit expired I found a local Kava lounge and started playing a few times a month there.
After those experiences, I realized I wanted to focus more on making my own songs and finding a way to monetize them.
I invested in myself and got a laptop so I could record my own music and start making content for online distribution through YouTube, iTunes, Spotify etc.
To coordinate these efforts I founded the Midnight Blues Lab and created this website.
2023 - Present
Miramar FL.
After moving to Miramar, I set up my first home studio. Learning to use Logic Pro & Final Cut Pro I began the work to craft my music digitally. The task at hand is to being posting my music online and make it available for distribution through various sites like iTunes, Soundcloud, YouTube, Spotify.
